USES A low cost highly efficient room conversation transmitter, suitable for concealment inside and under items due to its highly sensitive microphone.
SIZE 30 X 20 X 15mm. POWER: 9volt battery . FREQUENCY: Tunable 100 -125 MHz. RANGE: Up to 1000 Metres line of sight BATTERY LIFE Aprox 80 hours
RECOMMENDED RECEIVERS
SAB9 receiver or digital airband receiver, the SAB9 though physically larger than the DAR gives a better reception distance due to its increased sensitivity.
NOTE
If using a scanner make sure it is capable of receiving wide band FM (WBFM) at this frequency, many scanners switch to AM mode at this frequency and are not suitable for use with this transmitter. This transmitter is not suitable for body worn applications, as body capacitance may cause frequency changes in the transmitter.
It is illegal in some countries to operate certain transmitting devices it is the responsibility of the individual to check regulations. This unit has received no licenses or approval in any country and is supplied for export outside of the EC only.
The transmitting range of this unit will vary depending on the conditions it is used in, climate, built up areas, steel constructions, battery condition, antenna length are all factors that will affect the range, the type of receiver used can make a great difference both to the range and quality of the received signal. The specifications quoted were given under the optimum conditions using professional equipment.
This is a high performance, room transmitter, it has a built in quality microphone, which will pick up the slightest sound up to 25 feet away and transmit it up to 1000 metres LOS under ideal conditions. To operate this transmitter you need to attach it to a PP3 battery. The transmitter is factory pre set at 115 MHz and we strongly recommend that you do not retune the transmitter. The output frequency is tunable between 100 MHz - 125 MHz.
To Retune the transmitter to a different frequency turn the small screw on the top of the transmitter a fraction a turn one ¼ of a turn covers most of the frequency range. Take great care to use the correct size screwdriver and do not exert any pressure on the screw, as this will cause irreparable damage to the tuner that is not covered by our warranty. Place unit at least 10 ft away from the radio receiver, this is essential as the transmitter emits harmonics on several different frequencies and tune the receiver to the transmitter not the other way round. To achieve the best range fully extend the wire antenna fully. For optimum performance ease of use and reliability the frequencies outside the broadcast band i.e. the airband 108 MHz upwards are far superior and is a must if you are using it for surveillance purposes, as commercial stations may suddenly come on line and blank your transmission out, apart from the fact that anyone listening to their radio may inadvertently tune in to the signal.
